Ontario Pleasure Craft Operator Card - Complete The Test Online
All Ontario and Canada boaters must posess certification of completion of their boater course in the form of the "Pleasure Craft Operator Card" or Boater Card. Without the operators card, boaters face a fine of $250 for the 1st offense. This includes drivers of all personal watercrafts (PWC) that are motorized including boats, jet skis, Sea-Doos, Waverunners, and even canoes or boats with trolling motors.
Conveniently, you can quickly and easily complete the boater course online and the boating licence (operators card) will be mailed to you. You can even print a temporary card if you are about to use your boat immediately. The boaters test includes unlimited retries until you complete the test and become certified.

Pleasure Craft Operator Card - Good For Life!
Once you have completed the Boater Exam, you will receive the Pleasure Craft Operator Card - also known as a Boating License - as proof of competency in boating safety and knowledge. The operators card is good across Canada, and of course Ontario. The card is similar to the Drivers Licence in the driving world, except that it is good for life!
The Pleasure Craft Operator Card is issued by the Transport Canada Office of Boating Safety.
The most convenient way to obtain the boaters license is to complete the test online. However, there are also a number of testing locations across Ontario and the Toronto GTA area such as Bass Pro or select Loblaws Superstore locations that offer the boating test in person, as well as 3-hour classroom courses for those that need to brush up on their boating safety knowledge and skills.

You should attempt to complete the test in under 45 minutes to simulate the real boater exam.
To pass, you must answer 27 of 36 multiple choice questions correctly. This is equal to a score of 75%.
